- Implemented abbreviated twice-daily "inch stones" meetings where immediate team objectives and critical tasks were identified, allowing teams to focus on immediate tasks and cease schedule slippage related to "milestone" goals, and improving efficiency of hardware manufacturing on major International Space Station program.
- Effected weekly series of meetings that focused on "Anticipatory Customer Solutions" to diffuse confrontational escalation of meetings concerning problems with product integrity while team worked toward problem resolution.
Information Systems Management
- Directed initiative for share-drive migration of critical program information into Data Management System and completed within one year, increasing efficiency and eliminating vulnerabilities inherent in previous system.

- Awarded NASA Space Flight Awareness Team Award for outstanding performance and support to the ISS Electric Power System Program schedule and contribution toward the successful delivery of the first flight DDCU, which will support the U.S. Lab Module. Received second NASA Space Flight Awareness Team Award for contributions to the DDCU diode-recovery effort.
- Ensured immediate team recognition and reminders for critical dates and milestones, and established personal accountability to time management, by implementing web-enabled team and personal calendars to provide daily planning downloadable to PDAs and Blackberrys. Posted team schedules in common web-accessible location with requirement that all program data is available within three clicks or less.
- Boosted team efficiency and control over workflow by providing strategic guidelines for assignment priorities based on logic of Program requirements. Broke down projects into smaller, subproject modules and eliminated stress of uncontrollable workflows and competing team goals/assignments.
- Designed schedule and prioritized work for startup program, delineating deliverable activities and milestones, and implemented plan to execute program objectives based upon organizational Best Practices and review of previous Lessons Learned. Established successful status metric derived from schedule milestones with forced slack to assure delivery activities were accomplished on or before customer due dates.
Risk & Opportunity Management Communication
- Developed Risk Management section of successful Multi-User Operator System (MUOS) proposal: drafted collaborative document integrating Risk Management, Contingency Planning, Opportunity Analysis, and Program milestone on-ramp and off-ramp opportunities based on all partners’ Lessons Learned.

Team Communication, Culture & Change Agent
- Improved team communication by training all team members using "Action Learning" tool: established three-step process for questioning to improve team members’ communication skills, evolving team into a higher-performing group that shares information and knowledge.
- Trained all team members using Edward De Bono’s Six Thinking Hats, which created a "level playing field" for all team member communication styles by exposing hidden conflict and creating free dialog that provided a higher level of diversity within the teams.
- Instituted set of operational definitions for terms that were confusing to team members, allowing a vocabulary based on grounded organizational meaning (e.g. FOBFO: freaking out before finding out).
Continuous Process Improvements
- Conceived, developed, and established Best Practices Program for optimization of new engine design, producing 60+ new relevant criteria utilized as checklist by all team members, applauded by customer and followed with series of Lessons Learned sessions.

- Streamlined testing process for International Space Station Electronic Control Unit cables by redesigning cable harness assemblies for manufacturing on tooling fixtures and creating special test equipment cable tooling fixtures with flight cable interfaces. Redesigned testing procedures reduced manufacturing labor time by 10% and conserved reusable hardware.
Research & Technical Writing
- Constructed extensive collection of operational definitions of complex, highly specialized terms to simplify and clarify multi-dimensional research concepts and revised doctoral dissertation proposal in deference to audience scope.
- Designed and developed Innovation Cube (© 2004) instrument for measuring multi-dimensional innovation in individuals, groups and organizations. Data plots from instrument are based on innovation methodology, focus, adaptation, interconnections, environment and resources.
- Created SCORS (© 2004) idea grading instrument. Tool allows quantification of multiple ideas against established customer sensitivities and logical implementation criteria.
Mentorship & Partnering
- Established business mentorship program connecting business leaders with high school students enrolled in leadership program, and coordinated collaborative financial partnership to support youth leaders with grant-funded leadership opportunities.
