Product Design & Specifications
- Performed lion’s share of product line redesign from the bottom up, which resulted in a superior product. Created interdepartmental teams that addressed specific engineering issues to achieve the desired results in less than 90 days. - Directed team of engineers and technicians that developed and patented a High Temperature Multiplexed Plasma Energy Micro Torch System for Hazardous Medical/Biological Waste and a commercial irrigation and fertilizer dispensing system for commercial properties, such as golf courses and country clubs. Designed the electronic enclosures and High Temperature pyrolosis chambers for Plasma Energy Device.

- Designed front-end electronics for pressure and temperature transducers as well as the equipment enclosures and tool tray for a microprocessor based critical care patient monitoring system. Upon prototype completion, promoted to Plant Manager overseeing pilot program for the Medtake 2000 PMS with Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), as well as the manufacture of the Survalent 2000 Clinical Thermometer and associated disposables. Successfully obtained FDA, UL CSA regulations and certifications.

- Designed specialized equipment for pharmaceutical production department to include a color recognition system for tablet and capsule color consistency, as well as controllers for the control and/or monitoring of production equipment.
Business Development
- Achieved a 25-30% annual growth rate by implementing value-added services and sales programs that established a strong referral business from the medical, legal, real estate and contractor industries.

- Instrumental in both gaining new sales and maintaining the existing client base, often requested by customers and sales engineers as primary POC. Extensively supported sales engineers on technical issues with regard to hardware performance expectations and worked directly with clients for special projects to include secure wireless data transmission, high performance media capable products and POS KIOSK design.
- Introduced company’s core competency to waste removal and landfill companies and pursued the nuclear and hazardous medical waste industries, as well as precious metal mining industry. Conceptualized smaller versions of the company’s irrigation/fertilization device for residential use.
- Developed network of service contractors that represented themselves as associates to support the growing client base, which resulted in greater name recognition as well as superior customer service. Secured service agreements with Canon, HP and other industry name brands for both warranty and non-warranty service.
- Devised a wholesale network for the remarketing of in-house computer products and instituted a build-to-order (BTO) program that afforded delivery of equipment built to customer specifications within 48 hours.
Pricing & Contract Negotiations
- Managed supply chain for on-time, programmed delivery (JIT) of highly volatile priced raw materials. Negotiated best price and price protection for raw materials with earned volume discounts and price protection passed forward on scheduled, yet undelivered, raw materials.

- $80K annual cost savings resulted from implementation of inventory controls and audit trails for the tracking of raw materials used both in manufacturing and internal equipment.

- Coordinated facility expansion involving the move for corporate headquarters, including design and engineering responsibilities, as well as management of outside contractors handling renovations, capital equipment, power considerations, HVAC and the integrity of an upgradeable infrastructure for telecommunications and wireless and data infrastructure.
- Accomplished parallel tasks of establishing a research center and designing a critical care patient monitoring system and clinical digital thermometer. Kept monitoring system project on track and provided the due diligence, budgets and plans for the new facility to drive the construction to scheduled completion. Continuous Process Improvements
- Instituted processes that improved manufacturing and quality capabilities through sound engineering practices and GMP, resulting in lower product cost, dramatically reduced assembly and test times and improved product quality. Product cost was cut by 50% and the quality program (TQM and Root Cost Analysis) slashed returns due to field failure and shipping damage to less than 2%.
- Saved $170K annually by designing a process and engineering the mechanics that eliminated the ongoing expense for software replication capital equipment expenditures, as well as affording an efficient means of field service for software upgrades.
- Contributed to creation of a customer inquiry/proposal tracking system that improved efficiency and customer service levels.
Team Building
- Built highly efficient teams that shared workloads for special projects such as production ramp-ups and client services. Created interesting, challenging and fun work opportunities that attracted staff to these projects.
- Assembled team that assisted in design and fabrication of prototype products to include both constructed environments and electronic equipment for Swift Transportation, Glaxo Smith Klein, Bass Pro Shops and Retec Media Distributors.
Six Sigma, Kai Zen, & 5S Principles
- Oversaw all hardware aspects for both corporate infrastructure and security appliance product lines resulting in considerable capital equipment and operational cost savings. Worked closely with sales and marketing to perform product management duties for the incorporation of DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) for the entire product line and define appropriate core competency opportunities.
